My experience is exactly the opposite. I have several recently made Colts (this century) and they're all near perfect in fit and finish and are all perfect (so far) in functioning.

That is indeed the opposite of my experience with Colt in this century.

It will be interesting to see. I’d think it would drive the price down a bit on common guns but have limited impact on the higher end and rarer versions.

My wife has a python that her dad gave her years back. There is nothing really special about them. Imho the smith 686 is a way nicer gun.
