I was introduced to Rush (among others) in one of my best friend's basement here in Denver when I moved here in 1980'ish. Playing pool, smoking umm, something, listening to albums, etc. Over the years I was lucky enough to see them multiple times at Red Rocks, Fiddler's Green, etc. I loved that many of their songs have influences from Ayn Rand, etc. Fabulous music, fabulous band.

The first time I listened to 2112 (the album, including B side), on head-phones, was just mind blowing.

    RIP

Holy crap. My favorite drummer and one of my top bands of all time.

    RIP Professor.

Anatomy of a drum solo was mind blowing. And I'm not even a drummer. I highly suggest watching for anyone who hasn't.

Saw them when they were the opening act for Styx. Amazing concert, Styx had to kick it up a few to match the opening acts set.

I watched "something about rush, some time ago and there was a portion devoted to him. When he took off on his mc after iirc, his kid died. Interesting sotry of the band and it's members

I don’t get emotional about the passing of celebrities, but I gotta admit I’m sad today. I had a lot of fun in the 80’s with Rush in the background. I learned to drive at (and sometimes over) the edge listening to Red Barchetta. Even today while driving my truck with an automatic transmission the lyrics “shifting and drifting” rattle around in my brain if I’m hurrying around a corner.

Rest in peace, Mr Pert. I hope you are in the arms of your wife and daughter.

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?
