Stabbing spree in Colorado Springs leaves 8 injured

I didn't hear about this on the morning news. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.
A man allegedly stabbed eight people at several locations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, early Monday morning in what police said was a random spree of violence.

The attacks ended after victims detained the suspect.

Police responded to a call about 1:30 a.m. and found two people stabbed. The suspect had fled on walking trails that led through America the Beautiful Park, and officers who began to check there found more victims, police said.

Officers spread out to search and received reports that the suspect had stabbed several more people about a mile and a half away from the earlier stabbing, police said.

There, police found the suspect, who was being detained by some of his victims, police said. He was then taken into custody.

"The attacks appeared be random and there is no known relationship between the suspect and the victims," the report says.

All eight victims were taken to hospitals for treatment, the report says.

Colorado Springs Police Sgt. Shawn Peterson told CNN affiliate KKTV that the suspect acted on his own.

I'm not sure why they felt the need to point out that he "acted on his own". I wasn't suspicious about that aspect until they mentioned it.

America The Beautiful Park is very near where a lot of the homeless and indigent camp, so I'm guessing he's one of the mentally ill people who gravitated to The Springs after the Dems came to power.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

No gun used, not a story.

Imagine the systained hand-wringing coverage if eight victims had been randomly shot in downtown CS, even if no fatalities. This would be magnified if a "black gun" or magazines larger than 10 rounds were used.

Yeah, well the knife had an unlimited number of stabs loaded in it.

Very true. But in cases of knife attacks, coverage simply follows the events of the crime. Replace the knife with a gun, and everything morphs into "gun violence" and the accompanying shit show.

Yeah, I know. I was being facetious. Once they get the guns, then they'll go after the knives.

You don't think that this will go into the knife violence statistic? Why shouldn't this receive different coverage than gun stuff? Way easier to kill someone without training with a gun than a knife. No one died, guy is apprehended. What else is there to beat out of the coverage?
