I remembered I've recently been having an issue with my phone. I actually thing it's a phone issue. It will go into 3G and then not switch back to LTE unless I restart the phone. I've been into the wire a few times about it, and I think they have me set straight again. However, since Sprint is joining with T-Mobile, it's not out of the question that there are some bumps during the transition. I've never had that issue with Sprint in the last decade though, so I think it's the Google phone that's causing the issue.
