Default Car insurance companies, I need a new one.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a new car insurance company. I've been with progressive for over 10 years, but this most recent policy renewal is ridiculous. This past may I renewed with my wife and 2 cars for $960, which includes the pay in full discount. Since then I've sold my car, so we're down to 1 car, and the renewal is $860 with the pay in full discount. Only $100 less for only 1 car?!

Currently I'm just getting online quotes from different companies, but does anyone suggest one company over another. Liberty Mutual seems to have decent rate for me, just under $700 for the same coverages; does anyone have experience with Liberty and their customer service?

    Thanks.

My family and I have always had State Farm with no real complaints. Rates are decent, coverage is good and whenever we have made claim, it has been hassle free. I almost lost my license a few times when I was younger and they never dropped my ass either FWIW.

My father was a Farmers Insurance group agent and i have stayed or come back them after trying some others. When a claim is made, no problems. Also, after the 2012 wildfire here a number of companies wouldn't write house policies in my area. Farmers did. I keep both the house and cars with farmers.

    Extremely similar situation.
I was with progressive. Progressive was originally cheaper, but they creep up the prem every renewal. I always had to pay lumpsum for full discount at Progressive. It was still higher than Statefarm with same everything coverage. I pay monthly now with state farm, and I don't have to pay stupid ~1900 per 6 month lumpsum.

We had a large hike from Geico, no accidents, no claims, nothing. I blame it on all the hail storm claims. We switched to Progressive and saved quite a bit. Similar hike from State farm the year before (after being with them for 17 years).

Suprisingly my commercial accounts haven't changed much in the last 10 years. I make it a point to revisit my coverage too.

My rates just went up because I had a ?comprehensive claim exceeding $1000?. Not sure if I should be angry with my insurance company or God since my claim was hail related. Guess the insurance assholes figured even though I was at zero fault for that claim that I should still have to pay for it. Cork soakers.

I will second State Farm. Especially if you need an accident repair.

Been with State Farm since 03. Multiple cars, home, life. They paid out a few hail claims but the real test came two weeks ago when I was clobbered on the freeway. They have been nothing but awesome. Paid a fair value to total out my truck and are set on making me while. The injury attorney I hired told me right out of the gate SF is his recommendation to anyone who asks.
