Default Best place to buy powder and primers locally?

What's the best place to buy primers and powder locally within about 30-45 minutes of Erie/Longmont? Or is it still better and/or cheaper to buy online even with Hazmat shipping costs?

    My Feedback

Scheels in johnstown has a very good selection of reloading stuff. They will price match too. The liberty in johnstown just had a reloading store open in it's bulding, they have a decent selection and prices were fair. The sportsmans warehouse in loveland has a good selection of stuff and they are doing the price match thing right now also. The liberty in ft fun has a decent selection of powders and primers but that is all they sell.
    Don't be stupid!!!!!

If you buy online, you normally need to buy in bulk to make it worth doing. Get some friends to bundle orders unless you are ready to buy a large amount yourself. Places often run free hazmat, percentages off orders, or other deals. But they often adjust the prices to compensate.

As others said, for high volume orders you'll get better pricing using online vendors and taking advantage of free ship or free hazmat programs.

For a pound or two of powder or a couple thousand primers, I prefer to order "Ship to store". Sportsmans's on 84th has stock on the shelf sometimes and they're worth the trip. Sportsman's also ships to store for free. BassPro will do online ship to store for free, but you can't cross-ship to our Cabelas - you have to drive down to BassPro to pick them up. Personally, I try to keep feeding Sportman's over Cabasspro any chance I get.

Subscribe to Brownell's and they run free or 1c hazmat shipping offers from time to time. If you're not in a hurry, that's the way to go. They usually run one every other month or so, but they often run out of stock when it gets close to the main hunting seasons.
