I got an 83 in a 55 just outside of Castle Rock about a year ago. I was coming down an on ramp from a dead stop and I thought the highway below was 65 so I was going 73 to blend in, easier to slow down than speed up, at the traffic lanes. Turns out the speed limit was 55. The cop was going the opposite direction on the highway as I merged on the highway. He turned around and followed me from four cars back for about five miles before stopping me. I went to pretrial willing to plead guilty to 73 in a 55, they would not accept anything under 79 in a 55. So, it was a 6 point violation and $150. This was my only ticket in the last 3 plus years.

I was so pissed that I have raised all my engineering prices requiring me to physically go into Douglas County by 10% as an “Unfair access charge”. So, if houses cost more to buy in DC you can partially blame the CHP and the court system.
