And the wife actually got through to King Soopers on the phone today, and I garuntee that they would have preferred to deal with me in person than her on the phone.
They will do a refund, but will not show on my account for 3 -5 days.

I used King Soopers delivery for a few years when I was a caregiver and didn't have much spare time.
They will take care of your concerns, I'll say that first.
But just to give some background,
I think you can choose whether to allow them to substitute an item, or not. So if you will only accept Charmin, you can say that.
Otherwise, give them free reign for substitution. They will try their best. If you end up with something wholly inappropriate, just ask to return it.
They will also miss items, report it, and put it on your next order.
I've never used curbside, but I think the experience (what you get) will be similar.
I do think it is quite a bargain, for what they do, especially if you have a big shopping list.
With the stores being mainly empty today, however, please be prepared to ask them to shop often for items you need, with SUBSTITUTIONS.
Maybe they don't have Uncle Ben's rice, but they have Kroger rice. Good enough.
They shop locally, so the same store that you would normally go to... what they have is what you get.

ego,
I am aware of their substation option, which I checked the box for, the order I had was just canceled without reason or emailing to give us notice and still charged us for it.

That's not good, obviously.
I would call them and make friends with the operator. You'll likely be calling a lot. They are not perfect by any means.
But what they offer, groceries delivered to your home, is pretty good.
Good luck!

The wife took care of that, see post #22.

Weren't there a couple different Soopers locations that accidentally put diesel in the gas tanks at their stations? And many people had cars that got HUGE repair bills from such accident. And Soopers didn't want to cover the damages? Just 6 months ago or so...?
The restaurant supply store in Fort Collins had 50 lb bags of Calrose rice, brown rice, and instant rice. What restaurant serves that much instant rice?
