Yes, There is a generational difference with the Magpul dust covers/Mags, I have some of the old covers and they won't fit the newer mags. Pretty sure the newer covers will however fit the older mags. Not sure yet.

Call magpul's customer service line, they're known to replace defective mags straight away, or at least they used to.

I like their ranger pulls, and have had good luck so far with their AICS type 10rd mags, but I have never trusted the 30rd mags, USGI all the way with magpul followers of course

All the magpul mags I have left loaded for any length of time I have had problems with. I still have a few magpul mags but they are for range use only. Last year I fired 12 assorted usgi mags that were loaded for 15 plus years, all fired with out issue. I have another set of 12 mags that were loaded at the same time that I will shoot in the next 5-10 years to see how they do. A few months back I fired off 6 ak mags that had been loaded for 10 years not one issue with any of them.

2 weeks later for a reply Not really an issue for me I put them on the table at our garage sales. With a big USED sign on them.

That's disheartening. Maybe they got the flu, the magpu flu.
