I filled out the registration extension form online since I need emissions test to renew. Guess we'll see where that goes. All that form says when you submit is "Your response has been received. The DMV will follow up via email once your submission has been reviewed."

I find it hilarious/perturbing that they say they can't waive emissions. Why the hell not??? (Rhetorically speaking . . . I'm sure that "but muh environmental concerns" are immune from this once-in-a-lifetime-pandemic event where the govt can unilaterally close businesses and force citizens to stay home but they can't say "don't worry about an emissions test for the next couple months and just send in your renewal."

Quick update on this. I received an email back from DMV. They basically send you a PDF letter to print out and keep with you to show LEO if pulled over that says you can't complete your registration due to COVID-19 and that you have an extension to complete it. Has your name, VIN, vehicle type, etc. Last paragraph pasted below.

Note to law enforcement personnel: Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, state and or county offices have
been unable to assist customers with registration requirements. Please contact the Law Enforcement
Communications Center if you need to confirm the validity of this letter. This letter is valid until 60
days after the end of the Governor?s emergency order.

They replied to me twice with "use the attached letter" and no attachment.

Had to follow a link to fill out info and get some kind of "letter" because I can't get a new registration for vet plates because "the machine is broken" and COVID is making repairs unpossible. Must be Chicom parts printing our US of Fukn A plates.

That said, since it's a new dealer purchase, I'll also go to them before the temp tag expires and they can issue a new one.

I used the Kiosk at King Soopers. I did not need to have emissions.

I forgot to register an off road vehicle and this was before the CV19 and went in to pay it and I got hit with a a 100$ late fee and got to pay a whole year of registration in return I get whopping 4 months of use, that I now cant use because of the CV19 bs. Isn't that wonderful? "It doesnt reset until 13 months of expiration."

yup. if expired. it's kinda worth waiting until 13 months. GJ state for rewarding the latest.

Pay at 11 1/2 months and you'll be expired again in two weeks. Pay at 13 months, and it'll cost exactly the exact same but probably won't expire for 23 months. I've saved quite a bit in state "taxes" thanks to that. I haven't renewed straight at 13 months to know for sure if 13 = 23, but I have gotten more than 12 months on one renewal (17 maybe?) so I'd expect it...

So here's how my new registration is progressing (since it's a motorcycle no emissions). I took a photo copy of my driver license, insurance card and the plate I want to transfer to the new bike. The very very very nice lady I've been emailing with in the clerk's office gave me instructions to include a note stating the title number which she provided, a check in the proper amount and a note explaining what it all was for. There's a drop box at the county office where I put it last week. Now just waiting for the stickers and registration.

I've been dealing with the supervisor via these emails and she has been absolutely outstanding.

That's pretty cool when a governmental office actually treats you like a customer (taxpayer).

I have a renewal that requires emissions, except those stations are all closed. I submitted the extension request and got a case #. I have yet to hear back.
