5.11 TacTec Plate Carrier for run and gun.

I am thinking of a 5.11 TacTec carrier for run and gun, anyone have any opinions? I see the Taclite carriers on sale as well but no reviews.

i plan to use this for 5k type runs with swim cut plates. If you have other suggestions please thro them out.

I had cheap to expensive carrier.
My issue was not a durability issue. Many plate carriers are durable now. Even sub $150 carriers surprised me. Market is leaning towards "Operator this and operator that"
Durability etc might be a given factor, but I look at these ad what others and commando do not write much:

I like plate carrier that are:

1. Does not capture as much sweat/moisture. It will stink up the plate carrier in a long run, and even high end will beat the crap after 25 washes.
2. The plate carrier that doesn't beat the shit after 10+ washes. 5.11 at least in uniform is known for not fading color of uniform. I can wash 5.11 uniform every week, and I probably do not need to worry about fading color or uneven match color for about 30-40 washes. I am not sure 5.11 plate carrier is durable like that.


If you are just going to use for 1 long day, just buy stuff like Condor or Blackhawk. Even those will last more than 40weeks worn 8-12hrs per day, 5-6 times a week.

So I thank you for the information but I am not clear, have you used the TacTec or Taclite carriers and if so what is you experience? It sounds like you have some experience with others as well, which do you find meets your ‘Does not soak up a bunch of sweat’ standard?

I guess I misread your 1st post. Looks like you are debating between tactac and taclite.
I haven't purchased any of those 2. sorry.
