Rooster Comb Joint Ejection

Hello All!
Has anyone had luck with Rooster Comb knee joint injections? My MIL has had several with good results.

Supposed to increase lubrication. Late 60's and working, knees are telling me they don't like that!

I have had better results with a drain and a cortizone shot. If you do some research the rooster injection does not work for all people the same way. My dad got them a couple of times and the relief was very short lived, less than a month each time.

Those most effective were the "Hot Beef Injection" or the "Heat Seeking Moisture Missile". Both were completely incapacitating in every movie that I saw. Not that I ever watched a lot of porn or anything...

Like any treatment, what works for 1 may or does not work for someone else.

When i inquired about that injection. I was told. For your issues, why waste your time.

There's suppartz, monovis and some other vis injections. All the next step[s] above a cortisone injection.

. If you get relief and you will. Unless you stay of the leg, go to light duty or change what you do for work. In 6 months you'll be back at square 1. Don't care what the docs say, or what you heard.
I suggest a good knee brace, not an OTC or amazon prime unit. One that's a prescription where they measure your knee at certain points and give you a fitted unit. Then go the injection route.
Also have you had orthotics, as in a prescription set? If not ask if your ins co covers some, or all, of it. Depending who you have, it may be considered a DME.

UNLESS...... you get the docs to write a script, after some PT and show there was minimal relief.

There are some good stem cell therapies for joints these days.. in laymans terms they work by rebuilding/regenerating the material that has gone bad.

I had a stem cell injection in the left knee, the same time i was getting the right one cut off.

The ins co balked because it wasn't on their approved what ever list. The surgeon stepped up and quashed that denial of payment.

BUT i had relief for almost a year. Too bad certain kinds of stem cell therapy is not covered.

That was my experience too. The first time I got about 6 weeks, the second time was about 3. I didn?t do a third.

Some people say it works well for them though, if you get the injections I hope it works!

if I had the money I would try the stem cell treatment. It?s out of my reach currently though.

I've had injections twice.

At around 50% cartilage loss.

The first time didn't last 6 months.

Went to a different ortho and he asked if I first had a round of cortisone to reduce inflammation and swelling of the joint before the treatments. Negative.

Did a round of cortisone, then a round of the injections and it lasted quite a few years.

Getting to be that time again (and I've got heel spurs now too), but COVID has effed up my plans to get things fixed before summer.

As in, plantar faciitis? I used to have that bad in both heels, used to get painful cortisone shots from my podiatrist. Finally asked him about surgical options. What he said was -

"Look, I don't want to cut on you for this or keep doing these shots. Here, let me show you how to fix this....."

And he showed me how to stretch - with my feet flat on the floor, hands on the kitchen counter, just lean forward slowly and stretch the Achilles tendon. No bouncing or forcing! Just stretch the Achilles, and the plantar fasciia tendons. If you can, skooch your feet back some and stretch some more. Then stop.

It'll take a few days for the inflammation to chill out, but I did that stretching maybe 4-5 times, and that shit was GONE! That's been over 10 years ago, haven't had the heel pain or shots since. I'll still do the stretches a few times a year when I think about it, but it ain't often. He also said you can put a board under your toes and do the stretches, so you don't have to lean so far, but I never have.

Try it! It was a life-changer for me, pain was gone in a very short time.
