    You may have noticed the latency has disappeared.

    The latency was caused by a serious bot attack on our site. While there are mediations that can be made on a case-by-case basis at the server level, I don't have access to that capability.

    To resolve the issue, for the time being, I have turned off Guest access to the site. This means that the only way to view the site is as a registered user who is logged onto the site. If you ever look at the site while not logged in, you won't be able to so that for the time being.

    I plan to turn Guest access back on, but I want to give it a little time for the bots to think they can't get in any more.

    We use the Human Verification System (HVS), just not the CAPTCHA at this time. I just looked at it again and we do have HVS configured for that usergroup. There is no option to activate it for accessing/browsing the site.
