Arizona Mall Shooting

Shooting last night at a mall in Phoenix.
One of the witnesses was state senator Martin Quezada.
He went on twitter with this
"I just witnessed an armed terrorist with an AR-15 shoot up Westgate."

But he was told not to say anything else. Senator Quezada is slef-proclaimed "Arizona?s most progressive leader".
Think he is gun savvy enough to identify an AR platform at night during the chaos of a shooting? Or maybe he has an agenda to push?
My very uneducated guess is any long gun is an AR in his eyes, but what do I know, I'm just a cook.
