Thank you for those that support my stance. I've received the blessing from the Mods and if they change their minds I will be happy to adjust what I do on their forum.

I am also passionate about the military as I am a veteran and some very close friends of mine did not make it home.

If anyone would like to discuss any of my stances or opinions please feel free to PM me.

We should be honoring military deaths, too. Fire service would be nice, as well.

It had been briefly considered, at one time, to make a sticky or subforum for all of the LEO deaths. As was mentioned here, the individual posts make a statement that wouldn't be made if they were lumped into one section.

This forum was started by an LEO; we carry the respect for the sacrifices made by officers by the solemn reminders of KenDev's posts.
Not_a_Llama, are you volunteering to begin posting fallen military and Fire service? It is quite a commitment.
Aloha_Shooter & TheGrey sum it up very well.

We hear everyone's concerns that it can sometimes be overwhelming to the rest of the GD forum to see all of those individual posts. We do not disagree. But we also feel that each of these men and women deserve to be recognized individually for their sacrifices.

As a retired Airman, who served briefly in an LE role, I can appreciate the idea that we should also post the deaths of our active duty service men and women - but no one on the staff has the time to commit to such an endeavour. We would welcome anyone who wishes to step forward to take this on.

In the mean time, if anyone finds it bothersome, please just scroll past these threads. For anyone else, I hope that you, like me, are awestruck, humbled and saddened by the loss of so many who have sacrificed their lives to help keep order versus chaos and ensure America can be the great civilized nation for our children that we enjoyed.

    Ginsue out.

Refresh your new posts and they're gone in a few minutes if it's that bothersome.

I?ll be honest (hear me out). I don?t like most cops, the FBI, the ATF, etc. Basically, so-called Law Enforcement in general. It?s probably because I?m naturally rebellious and hate bullying, which so many who wear a uniform seem to excel at, and only that.

But the fact of the matter is I, we, don?t know if any particular name which KevDen posts was altruistic or an asshole. All we know is they went out every day, risking their life in ways only a small percentage of society can relate to or realistically imagine.

As such, letting God be their judge on motivations, I think it?s only fitting that we at least acknowledge those men and women.

When the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were at their occupational peak, I tried to keep up with daily deaths. To read the names, the units, the manner of death. Ultimately, I couldn?t do it anymore. It was just too hard. I only knew a handful over the years, but every one was a cut to the soul to read.

Having never been LE, I would imagine that doing that work of relating to us, who don?t wear that uniform, the fallen, also is a cut to the soul.

We carry, we train, we theorize for our own safety in situations that statistically will never come. Those statistics are far less in favor of the men and women who enforce the law.

If a moment to at least see 1, 7, or 10 fallen people is too much to look at, not even to read in depth, perhaps the mirror is the place to look and question.
