Staglefty is not a smith.
I believe you are thinking of Rob B. in Aurora? Rob's contact e-mail is conceptguns (at) yahoo.com
Ralph Stoevener, owner of High Country Gunsmithing. He's located on the west I-25 frontage Road north of Hwy 52. Frederick mailing address I believe but used to be Longmont until just recently.
He can be a real pain in the a** to catch up with, but does exceptional work from what I've seen. The shop number is 303-774-1746, but I usually try and stop in around mid-morning.
only if you don't have a need for you gun till say sometime in 2010-11
his basic shit takes forever, and he is more atuned to the high end jobs.
a quote, time wise from him beginning of this year was, drop it off in sept.
very nice work he does, like autobody and other smiths his weeks are kind of loooooong
LOL. Wish I could argue but I really can not. I recommended Ralph for his workmanship, not his work habits. He can be frustrating but he does do very good work.
I feel your pain; actually I've felt your pain.
Some gunsmiths use a different calendar than the rest of mankind. I always take the estimated timetable and double it.
You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning
and I'm crazy about my tea at night
bump. Looking for any good gunsmith to work on my 1911.
