    Default Helmet recommendation?

If a fella was concerned that he might have to stand outside his place of business and repel looters, what do you all recommend for a bump helmet? I anticipate adding NOD's to the toybox someday, so compatibility with NV would be a bonus. I probably don't want to spend the bank for actual ballistic protection.

My head is pretty big if that matters to the discussion.

If it's a bump helmet, do you need anything more than a full face-shield motorcycle helmet or autocross helmet? Nice thing about having those is they look "ordinary" so won't attract undue attention ...

You don't think a dude standing in a store front wearing a full face motorcycle helmet would stand out?

I have full face MC helmets. I don't think I'd like having my ears covered or the reduction in peripheral vision. Probably exactly the right thing for getting hit with a stick, though!

I meant prior to actual use. Having a combat helmet sitting on the shelf or by the door would attract more queries. Of course you could keep it in a duffel bag until needed.

Cheap option would be a bmx or roller derby certified helmet. Can take a licking and good for multiple impacts. Would blend in most anywhere as looks like a bicycle helmet. Carry a skateboard and you can add a backpack and elbow and knee pads without looking suspicious.

Ops-Core was recommended to me, no complaints but I've never done more than wear it around the house.

Probably not a good week to go outside at night and run around the neighborhood.

Do like the Korean business owners did in the Rodney King riots, claim the Tactical advantage of the high ground, defend from the roof.
