Something that people often forget is that the police and justice system protect the criminal element just as much, if not more, than the general populace.

If they take the measures desired by these groups, like defending the police department etc., the general populace no longer has any restraint in determining when and how to defend themselves. Crime might be slightly higher, but then again, more people would be armed, and things like robbery would have a much higher rate of fatality on both sides of the isle - it would make things chaotic, but it would also make "crime" carry far more immediate risk. Even if you so much as start to graffiti a wall.... Some crazy bastard might shoot you for it. Who is going to arrest them? If you're jurisdiction has severe penalties for owning firearms..... what is actually going to restrain the good guys from having whatever-the-hell-they-want tucked under the counter of their business?

I've been thinking that the timing of Officer Greg Anderson's anti-rights violations video during Covid video was impeccable. Had he done it and then all this kicked off a few days later, his message would have gotten lost and he wouldn't be looking at a GoFundMe worth way more than being a Port Authority police officer.

It was like deciding to get out of stocks to invest in something less volatile a few weeks before the big crash in '29. No way he could have known, it just worked out for him. Couldn't have happened to a better guy, either.
