    Default 2020 Primary Election - June 30, 2020

Does having a single thread about all of the primary options rather than each contest make sense to folks?

Being unaffiliated, I can either vote in the Republican or Democrat primaries.

The Congressional contests on the Republican side do not have opposition. There are 2 candidates for the CU regents and County Commissioner - District 2 which don't concern me as much as the Senate race.

I'm kicking around the idea of voting in the Democrat primary and picking the Senate candidate that will create the most friction for the DNC. Hickenlooper will get the name recognition, but will Romanoff be able to compete with that?

This is a part of the reason our system is broken. Us against them and fringe candidate on both sides. What happens when you idea backfires and you end up with the person you hate?

I won't be voting Dem in the actual election in November. Doesn't matter which Dem gets elected, neither of them will be ones I like.

If the Dems get a bad candidate, there's a chance more of their voters won't bother to vote. Either way, it makes no sense for me to cast a primary ballot for Gardner since he's running unopposed.

By the way, this stupid system was put in place by the voters. I voted against it since I wanted closed primaries and for the parties to pay for the primaries and not the state. I didn't ask for it, but why not play the game?

Does closed primaries mean that you have to join a party to vote in their primaries?

Yes, the way it should be.

Having to join a special club in order to express our voting rights as Americans is how it should be?

I watched an hour long Q&A between Michael Allen and Mark Waller, my only two choices on the republican ballot — 4th judicial DA — and I came away knowing f*** all about anything or either. On the upside, Longinos Gonzalez has a cool first name. Named after St. Longinus, who in tradition was the Roman soldier that stabbed the side of Christ with his spear.

Maybe we need some spears. Just not Brittany. Leave’r her alone.

Not to vote, but to select a party's candidate via a primary. Republicans used to do a caucus here in CO.

Parties should be wholly responsible for choosing their own candidates IMO.

No party affiliation is required to vote in a general election. Just need to be registered.

    That doesn't sound unreasonable.

Apparently reason was lost on the CO voting majority.
