I got cuffed and stuffed back in '87, for DUI. Didn't actually sit in a jail cell because, I was told, they were full. Waited about an hour before my buddies girlfriend came and got me out. Getting a DUI back then was much different then it is these days, from what I hear.
I've done road side sobriety tests 4 times, only once did I get a ride. One of those other times, I should've gone to jail, but the sheriff let me slide with instructions to get off the street and find a bed. Those were the good 'ol days.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.
