The US Army trained troops for WW2 with the Mossberg M44 It had green and red buttons at the rear of the rifle for safe and fire markings.

I have one and can confirm. That's the only gun I can remember seeing Christmas colors on.

It's your gun do what you want. I have never seen green for fire on a gun before. The colors you did are legit.
