I'm an independent (always have been) so I received both the Republican and Democratic primary ballots. There are no contested races on the Republican ballot (in Jefferson County) but there is a huge race between Romanoff and Hickenlooper on the Democratic ballot. I'm going to return the Dem ballot with a primary vote for whoever is most likely to lose to Cory Gardner in the upcoming US Senate race. I have found polling showing Hickenlooper with a 18pt lead over Gardner, but I can't find any polls with a Romanoff-Gardner contest, probably due to Hickenlooper being the presumed nominee. However, it appears Romanoff is closing the gap against Hickenlooper, so there is the potential for Romanoff to pull off an upset. My concern is that I have no idea if Romanoff would do better or worse against Gardner in the general compared to Hickenlooper, and I can't find any polling data to sway me one way or the other. On the one hand, I want Hickenlooper to lose every single contest that smarmy piece of shit enters, just to see a frown on his stupid fucking face. On the other hand, if he has a better chance of losing to Gardner in the general than Romanoff does, then I want him to be the nominee.
Colorado has become so un-f'n-believably predictable when it comes to our politics that I fully expect Gardner to lose his seat in November, regardless of who he is up against. I just want to do my part to give him a chance. Romanoff is even more smug and progressive than Hickenlooper, which I almost think gives Romanoff more votes in the general compared to Hick. Hick is currently suffering from the ethics "scandal" and the attack ads from Romanoff, which is narrowing his lead over Romanoff to 13 points. I don't see Colorado voters giving a single flying fuck about Hick's ethics violations or his political legacy of being a giant waffling cuck, all the voters see is the color blue and a 'D' next to his name. If there is anything the 2018 election taught me, it is that Colorado has gone full retard and is not ever coming back, with most voters happily check-marking a literal steaming turd so long as it is in the 'D' column.
So anyway, someone please help me out and substantiate an argument for which of these two punchable-faced fascists has the best chance of losing to Gardner in November? Thanks.
