I seriously doubt it has anything to do with it not being worth getting hurt, but everything to do with not getting arrested, charged with a crime, and/or sued. That is what the crowd of people holding cell phones is waiting for. That and I can almost guarantee they are under direct orders to not do anything short of responding to a homicide.

I should also point out that even on this site, just a few short weeks ago, we had many people demanding that all uses of force, no matter how justified, all complaints, no matter how ludicrous, be tracked, and all officers who had too many (based on an arbitrary number some activist decides is too many), be fired. Due process, justice, fairness, or even plain common sense be damned. Anything an officer does there is guaranteed to be both a use of force AND a complaint, regardless of how reasonable their actions would be. If I’m not mistaken, DPD already counts and tracks both. The people are getting exactly what they are demanding.

You're damn right they are. I started saying this before I left law enforcement...eventually you anti-police people are going to get the kind of police department you want. And by then it's going to be too late. Now we're in the midst of a second civil war, it's starting to heat up, and we've allowed law enforcement agencies to be neutered. We've made our beds and now we have to lay in them.
