    Default Modern 1911 recommendations

One of my family members has asked me to help shopping for a quality, 5", railed, suppressor ready, ambi safety, 45acp, single stack 1911, factory model. Primary use will be a nightstand ready gun. Purchasing new some time around December, so plenty of time to have it sent from buds or something as there's few good gun shops where they live.

Sig tacops comes to mind and is at the top of the budget

What other makes and models should be considered?

Springfield? They have a number of models that fit that description.

Dan Wesson has a railed threaded barrel. Best you’ll do without going semi-custom like Baer, Wilson or Nighthawk. I think the Dan Wesson Discretion meets your criteria.

Consider opening up your choices with a none threaded barrel. Then buy a threaded barrel. Many available online.

I chuckled a little when I saw the word modern and 1911 in the same sentence.

Not really going to find so much as a drop in as most have to be fitted along with barrel bushing. There are a few Dan Wesson 1911's that come with a threaded barrel or If you have a big budget theres a Ed Brown Special forces carry on GB with a 2 barrel set now.

Glock 36, except the barrel isn’t long enough.
    9mm - because they don't make a 9.1mm

Unless I show up and fit the second barrel, it wont happen. Hence the factory model requirement
