Ditched the FLGR, for GI, added the arched MSH and switched the trigger from long to med. Not heavy at all and much thinner than most pistols.

How dare you insult my Walther PPQ. I also have a P22, but I have no clue how you put Walther's Umarex/Arnsberg guns ahead of Walther's guns made in Ulm. There's really no comparison.

I don?t have any recommendations, but I saw this one on Saturday, and it may just be my next handgun.

About the only "modern" update to the 1911 is to make it a double stack to compete with growth of the Tupperware guns. Everything else is options or accessories.

Drop the modern tag if want 1911. Lots of Al/Sc framed 1911's to keep weight down. Lots of required features will make search tougher.

Going with what you're looking for I'd check out Dan Wesson, they have a few that come ready to go with your specs. Here's one-

I've owned a couple Vigils and they are outstanding values, not that a carry is in your wheelhouse, the standard versions are also excellent for ecd.

I'm partial to this one however, Colt Gunsite Government. Single side safety, beavertail, I added regular width grips. Very accurate and feeds everything I've tried in it. Current favorite hd round is the Winchester Ranger l.e. 230gr jhp standard velocity. The slide is at Novak right now getting an orange ringed tritium front and wide notch rear with tritium dots. Pics when I get it back, hopefully the end of this week or early next.

so your saying a frame modification to take newly developed accessories would qualify as a modern model. Like an integral rail?

Fitted neccessary parts aren't really accessories imho

Also 45acp is superior to all other calibers.....
