It is fun during the covid stuff to hear the county leadership tell Denver to go pound sand. And despite the fact that it will probably never happen, the secession notion to get Weld county to leave Colorado and join Wyoming sure makes certain peoples heads spin. There are some left leaners around, but even those tend to be pretty conservative in nature out here.

There are options other than uprooting life and skipping state. I moved over and over in my youth. Pretty happy to have the opportunity to not have to do it again. Urban areas suck. I much prefer living in proximity to a town of 200. Would make the same choice again, even though I was pretty set on an Idaho move.
I don't disagree with what you say about the rest of the state. The only problem is, you're still bound by the same liberal government overreach and ridiculous laws and lies that come with liberals telling you they know how you should live your life better than you do. You still have the same onerous gun laws that restrict your freedom and were enacted to "keep you safer". You still have the same lies from the state.

You don't have that in Idaho. I don't really know your situation of course but it makes me kinda sad that you didn't think a move to Idaho would really solve anything. I gotta be honest...you don't know what you're missing. It was like going back in time 40 years or so in Colorado. Nobody telling you how to live your life, minimal gov't intervention in your life, people who live like they're free. And the people value that. Of course it won't always be the same as it is now...change is inevitable. But it doesn't have to be change for the worse.

I had two choices: stay in Idaho and keep working or move to Oklahoma and retire. I kinda like this retirement thing...otherwise I'd still be there.
