    It's kinda strange to see the grain silo still partially standing next to a crater. I'm not completely surprised though because that is A LOT of mass when full, it seems to have absorbed a lot of the blast.

    Even more surprising to me is that the buildings on the left side of the silo, as seen in this picture, are gone. I would think they would have been protected by the still partially standing silo that would have redirected the blast around them...but nope. They're gone too.

    I don't believe you need anything more than the ammonium nitrate and gobs of heat. That place in waco (actually, West,, TX) popped when a fire got into their ammonium nitrate storage. Color of the cloud was nowhere near orange though.
