I'm amazed at some of the comments here. Everyone knows, or should know since our masters, er lying news agencies, um totally honest mainstream media tells us that the Lebanese people are absolutely non-violent, peaceful people and that the lies of Hezbollah are nothing more that some made up boogeyman by the right-wing conspiracy theorists.

This was nothing more than a simple fireworks factory (so these genteel people can celebrate) accidentally blowing up. If we've told you once, we've told you a million times that M80's are just too dangerous. In hindsight, putting the fireworks factory next to an ammonium nitrate storage plant (used solely for agricultural purposes) wasn't the best of ideas or planning.

Shheesh. Where do you people get your silly ideas.

That NV was pretty darn big. That video led to another, first video here is supposedly 800 tons of ammonium nitrate that went up in a shipping yard in China.

That first video is a closer seat to the entertainment than I'd want!

A 300 foot crater was made in the dock. Basically a big chunk is water again. That explains the white ball of the explosion. The white ball blast is seawater vaporized. If a tanker full of oil or LNG was there it would have been a much larger blast. As for the chemistry, a fuel has to be added to the ammonium nitrate to explode.
So the official story is the fireworks breached a fuel supply and flooded the ammonium nitrate? Hahaha
