I think what you're saying is that there's "drawback" as the case feed retracts from pushing the case fully into the shell plate?

Does this appear to be the case simply tipping as the Case Insert Slide (#2) retracts, or does the case appear to be sticking to the Case Insert Slide, drawing it back and out of it's fully inserted position?

Does your 650 have a Station 1 Locator Tab Spring (#12) or not? Early 650s had these, later ones do not.
