Default Bedside gun safe that doesn't need batteries?

Does anybody have or use one? How well does it work?

With schools partially closed we will have grandkids running around the house. Their Dad (our son) is a former Jeffco reserve Deputy so I'm sure he's impressed on them the "don't touch" rule, but kids can be kids.

I have one of those finger safes but hate the fact that it requires batteries and every couple of months will fail to open when one of the batteries goes dead (then I need the key to get it open.)

Any recommendations? I'm really looking for something that locks, I don't want to just hide the gun, I want to secure it.

    Thanks in advance!
    Martin

I like the vline boxes that use the mechanical simplex locks. https://www.safeandvaultstore.com/pr...SABEgI97PD_BwE

The V-Line looks great. I’m sure getting tired of replacing batteries in my biometric GunVault...

Dead batteries that often sounds off. I have a battery powered pistol Gunvault that I replace the batteries every few years even though they aren't even dead yet. Truly, I've had it for about 11 years and have only replaced the batteries maybe 3-4 times and they have never died.

For non-battery, I have a few from Shotlock and have been happy with them. They are non-battery, push button with a little knob you turn after you press the buttons. Works great, but you need to remember which way to turn the knob..turn it one way after pushing in your code, it will open. Turn it the other way, and it will reset the number buttons and you'll have to enter them again.

V-line and Fort Knox ... Love the Simplex locks. But yeah, gotta remember to turn clockwise to open
