I got the standard when it came out.
Upto the arlo2 pro is free for 7 days storage (I might be wrong since they change it so often). Newer version needs to $$ up.
Very light/shade sensitive facing north.
Shade/sunlight combo area sensitive setting needs to be much lower for it to not give false alarm.
Now, I turned the sound alert off on driveway camera.
I'm looking at either the blink or ring, system. The arlo is $$ for the areas i would like covered. I've read in reviews about the sensitivity with sun & shade issues.

I like mine. I only use it to check up around the house. If you can, save money for a hard wire system.
Yes I have an Arlo system I bought at Costco on Black Friday last year. It’s been excellent and easy to use. The clarity even at night is terrific. I don’t know the model, but it’s the rechargeable wireless model where each camera has a rectangular battery pack that lasts about 4 months easy, between charges. I like the ability to have schedules defined and each camera individually zoned if you want to.
For example, I have one in the basement that watches the vault and reloading setup... if it catches movement at specified times, I get notified instantly and a recording is taken and emailed to me and also available in the app.
i did not like the idea of having to pay for online storage with Ring or others. With arlo you can store the content on your own NAS device for free.

I have blink, bought it through kohls when they had one of their kohls sales (since they partner with amazon). Was about 1/3 the cost of arlo. I like it, my only gripe is the app is a little slow when doing actions like going to live view, arming and disarming, etc. It takes about 3-5 seconds. I tested two way voice from work in aurora and could have a convo with my wife in broomfield.
The older arlo uses cr123 and it was included. I just got tired of buying new battery and just bought bunch of rechargeable cr123. Rechargeable does not last as long as alkaline version, but sure save money. I do not mount higher than 10' , so it is slightly easier to change up the recharge cr123s.
Regular battery ~1-3 mo
Rechargeable as low as 5 days (cold winter with heavy usage) to 1mo.
Sun and shade really sucks with arlo, but I do turn off the notification ring and let it just record on the driveway which is facing north.
The one facing south is amazing. Always sunlight and barely any false alarm.

I’ve had the Arlo Pro (basic model) for several years and they work OK for what I need. I can put up to 5 cameras on a base station without subscribing. I didn’t go with the newer cameras that require the fee but about two weeks ago I picked up another set of 4 manufacturer refurbished (with warranty) to replace a couple (even though they were still working fine) and put the others away for back-up. They record about 10 seconds of video at a time. There are times when I get the sun at certain times of day that may set them off when it comes out of a shaded area. I do get the occasional birds, wasps, and spiders at night that set them off. The night vision is somewhat limited if you place them too high (newer models may do a better job). You have to experiment a bit when setting them up to find the right spot and when they pick up what you want to see. I use the recommended Tenergy gold label rechargeables and is not unusual to go a couple of months before I change them. I did have one that had the IR get stuck and give me pink video, but I finally got that one working correctly. I’ve never had any issues with manufacturer refurbished (key word being manufacturer). In short, they work OK for me. YMMV.
