    Default Ash falling in Aurora

Is there a house or brush fire in the Metro area ?
There is visible ash particles falling in Aurora, in the Tower & Iliff area. Anybody else noticing it ?
im not talking the micro dust ash that we have been getting for the last month and a half or so from the forest fires in the state, this is bigger darker particles that you can see individual dark particles accumulating on lighter vehicles and surfaces.

It’s from the Cameron peak fire west of Fort Collins. I just went up there this afternoon... it’s wild.

I visited the distillery in Palisade and found ash from the Pine Gulch fire on the plants there. Interesting article in the Daily Sentinel today about smoke taint affecting the wine grapes and possibly damaging the Grand Valley wines.

Opportunity for new creative blends...this cabernet has the earthy flavor of a well-aged Bourdeaux combined with a hint of Lagavulin.

The Mrs & I went up to Estes Park today. We forgot that you have to make reservations now to get into RMNP so we decided to to drive around aimlessly. We drove up through Drake (I'd never hear of Drake before today) to about 1/2 way between Drake and Loveland. Estes Park had heavy smoke, but it certainly got worse the closer we got to Drake. We turned around and 1/2 way back towards Estes from Drake we pulled off and had a picnic lunch. You'd have thought it was snowing with all of the ash coming down. The orange glow in the sly back in Estes was something to see, but not quite as severe as what Sawin posted.

Heading back out of Estes we stopped in Pinewood Springs. I've seen the signs for the Cherry Pies there for years and have never stopped. Today I decided I had to try one (I got a Cherry Pie Pocket, aka hand pie and it was very good). We looked up into the sky from where we were parked and you could look straight at the sun and in was bold RED due to the smoke. Unique experience.

We made it home at about 6:30 and noticed that there is a strong smell of smoke here too.
