    Default Glock P80

Anyone had any hands on experience with one yet? I know, it's a Glock. How much different can it be from any other Glock?

I lucked out on a GunBroker auction and won one for a really decent price. I sure as hell don't need another one but, I don't really need what I have, either. I like the original Glocks and was glad to see when the Gen5 came out they did away with those silly finger grooves.

I've been looking for a 1st generation G17 but they're as much, or more, than this new "collector" P80.

Unless you and I aren?t taking about the same thing, it actually isn?t a Glock.

Obviously it is pretty close to a knockoff and shares a lot of parts but to call it a Glock would be like calling a PT1911 a Colt.

The P80 is dissimilar enough from a Glock that they aren?t compatible with most Glock holsters.

Anyhow, my apologies if I came off a little cranky. I?m traveling today and I loath airports are I?m not particularly fond of the idea that I am being forced to wear a mask most of the day.

No...I know what you're talking about. This isn't that. The P80 is the first generation Glock adopted by the Austrian army. It's really just a renamed G17. Lipsey's and Glock are doing a remake of it...it's identical to the 1st gen gun. They even remade the original combat tupperware box.

Oh. Nice. Even after you posted that if I search any combination of Glock and P80 all I find are the Polymer 80 things.

Where did you find out about this?

Say a YT video from Lipsey's. I don't know if you're familiar with them but they're a big distributor in Louisiana. They worked it out with Glock and they're doing 5000 guns this year and 5000 next year.
