If the US Army buys the snake oil this is what will replace the 5.56 mm.
I bet it cost more than brass cased ammo.

Seems like the digital camouflage uniforms they adopted twenty years ago or so were supposed to be the be all/end all as well. How did that work out for them?
Anybody remember the IWI/IMI and PCP poly case ammo about a decade ago?
Sounds like somebody thought they could build it better....
Shooter beware do NOT use this type if ammo with a fluted chamber-- Kapow!
Didn't they also have issues with poly pistol case ammo that used blowback?
6.8TVCM unlikely. My guess is that chambering will disappear if production moves forward. Sounds like trying to remarket a version of the 7mm-08 or there abouts.

If it worked well, it would be worth a hefty price premium, with the weight savings for individual fighters.
But, this being the US military, that weight savings would be used to carry more ammo.
So ultimately, I think it would still be worth the price premium to carry more ammo.
One thing I remember about the PCP folks before was that they never really planned on the problems with selling to the civilian market and the millions of gun and chamber configurations.
9mm - because they don't make a 9.1mm
“This weapon has an accurate range far in excess of any known existing military rifle today,” Milley said during a speech at the Association of the United States Army’s annual meeting in October in Washington, D.C.
They’re pouring it on pretty thick.

If it was more accurate bench rest shooters would have done this long ago. The fact that it is recyclable is funny to me as well, brass is not only recyclable but reusable as is and far better for the environment. Seems like someone is just wanting to make some money and pouring on the BS to me.
