Default Have to share a funny

This is kind of funny on an number of levels so have to share

I had an ad on another "AR" site.

I listed the item as $110 with shipping Priority mail.

Had a barterer message me: "Would you take $100 for the item?"

I hate barterers at times when the price I already have is good so I felt like being kind of a smart-ass.

I replied; "Sure as long you pay for shipping then? I can slap it in a medium flat rate priority box. "

He replies; "sweet! sure can do."

I charged him the $100 and then $15.05 for the shipping.

He didn't say anything back but; "Thank you for the deal!"

He paid (totally shocked), I shipped the item, delivered to him today. He still has not said a single word to me.

I am waiting for something, but I suspect he was humbled and slightly embarrassed so wont say anything to me. I have been debating whether I should be a nice guy and give him back $5.05.

I get why you might feel a little bad but I wouldn't refund the money. You had the item listed for a fair price and he wanted to change the terms. You gave him exactly what he asked for. It's not your fault he's a dumbass.

I ve sold over 16 years selling stuff online.
The buyer probably thought "110 with shipping" was $110 plus shipping.

Tuis happened to me about 5 days ago.
I had a guy who overpaid $5 on a used golf bag because he said it was $75. I took his word and got $75.
I found out I listed it at $70 15 mins later when I was about to pull the ad out.

I used to sell a lot of stuff over at the FALFiles and I noticed over time that items sold faster when you lets say charge $100 + shipping vs $110 shipped, not sure why.

You let him have the fantasy that he's a fantastic negotiator for the low, low, low, fee of $5.05.

Right? totally fascinating that a changing of wording will make something sound more enticing, making them think they are getting a killer deal. Kind of like the golden rule of retail, a .05 difference makes it sell faster. $100? damn that is too expensive! $99.95, under a 100, ordering right now!

I left him some good feedback.
