Default 17 years and 1.25$ short

Built this in shop class when I was in 11th grade. Sat in my parents basement until about a year ago when they said take it or it?s going in the trash. Had an empty wall In the office so I hung it up adjacent to the flag. Cut to a little while ago the girl friend said can I get rid of all these containers of coins( mostly quarters that I haven?t cashed in since I was in high school). Long of the short she made me sort them out and at that point I was able to put them in the map. Denver mint in the middle and the philly on the boarder. Only need 5 more. almost thinking of doing another for the America the beautiful series

Thanks. It’s one of those things that came from having an awesome shop teacher. I remember when the first few states came out and I couldn’t imagine a time when they would all be here. Now they are going to be done with the next series next year. Glad my parents didn’t throw it out.

All we got to make in shop class was a cutting board that looked like a fish - well it kinda looked like a fish. The class was discontinued after the teacher lopped off the tips of his fingers one day in class.

Took shop class in Sacramento in the late 50's.
Walked into a mid-morning class to see blood on the wall and shop teachers mopping the floor.
A Band Saw blade had snapped and caught the operator.
That was before Band Saws had effective guards.

The project you did is very cool.

I may or may not have been responsible for balloons full of acetylene and oxygen being detonated in the welding hood at my high school. This may or may not have contributed to the hearing loss in my right ear.
