    Yeah...that's beautiful!

Only place I've actually seen them is flying around Amarillo when I've driven thru that area. Pretty awesome machines.

That's one of the things I miss about The Springs ... lots of interesting flyovers.

A lot of air traffic here in Wichita (it is The Air Capital afterall) but its mostly boring stuff.

IIRC, there were a lot of development issues with the Osprey. How have they performed in the field?

I saw a pair of them doing high altitude training near Glenwood a few years back. Pretty cool to watch.

I think they used four Ospreys, some MC-130's, C-17's and tankers on that US hostage rescue mission in Nigeria. Like to hear that whole story, quite the operation.

A lot of that was due to using crushed walnut shells to clean parts. Clogged oil feeds.

I saw a couple go over my campsite back in a month or so back. Much quieter than I remember.

    Stellar.

Had some glitches when they were still being developed. They're fast and quiet. Can get folks in and out quick.

They're reliable enough that there have been discussions of using the Osprey to replace the Marine 1 helicopter for Presidential transport.

Last week I had a V-22 fly over the house with the props turned horizontal.
Even down here in the basement it was a loud and unique sound.
It flew over the city and landed at PAFB.
I always assume they are flown by Marines, but the USAF has them too.

Heard the V-22 was used in the recent hostage recovery in Nigeria.
