Default Ruger Wrangler ejection rod handle broke

    Hi all,

Today I noticed that the little tab/handle on the ejection rod for the Ruger Wrangler was really loose and impossible to use, after less than 3 months of owning the gun, less than 500 rounds through it, bought brand new.

I took it apart and found it had snapped off and was only staying in the housing because there's no room for it to come out.

I contacted Ruger about getting a replacement rod assembly (as that handle piece appears to be a press fit), but havent heard back yet.

In the event that Ruger says I am SOL, does anyone have an idea of how to fix it? I was thinking maybe JB Weld? I live in an apartment and cant do actual welding.

Hopefully they?ll hook you up and send you a new ejector rod.

I doubt whatever kind of cast or injection molded metal that thing is made out of would take a repair very well.

That's what I'm hoping also. Also hoping to avoid the hassle of shipping a gun to them...

Agreed. I don't think that the pot metal/aluminum will hold up. JB Weld should hold around 3800PSI, so assume half that for real world applications...or it will just destroy the part further.

    What Ray said.

Parts are available aftermarket if need. Ordering parts from Ruger can be bit of a PIA sometimes.

Would the Single Six part work? I'm assuing it would be much higher quality. I'd personnaly use Devcon metal epoxy as I believe it's better than JB weld but it's also sold by the pound and costs a lot.

If you can post a picture of it we may be able to come up with a better solution....like just making one.

I can?t verify it but I would think a single six rod might work.

Might be worth a shot to try it for less than $7.

Thanks! I'll wait to get a reply from Ruger, but if they don't come through I'll try the one from a single six.

As far as making one goes, I don't really have access to any equipment to make one. I don't think work will let me use the lathe and mill for this...

Let me know if you go the single six route. Mostly curious since I have two of the Wranglers. Just in case.

I remember reading when they first came out that they use the same ejector rod as the single-six. Also think ruger will just get a new one out to you.
