For most Americans pets are part of the family and losing one can be just a painful and long lasting as the loss of a human family member. It sucks that good dogs and cats typically live only 10-20 years. That can add up to a lot of sadness over a human lifetime.

Sometimes I wonder if our cats have any realization that we are older humans and have lived through multiple lifetimes of dogs and cats. If only we could bring them all together....it would make me happy.
