In-N-Out, and to a much lesser degree, the McRib, are coveted because they're unavailable--like Coors beer in the 70s. However, Burt Reynolds never made a movie about delivering a truckload of California to anywhere...

RE: McRib. Did someone say McGross?

For real hometown nostalgia burgers, many have their favorites.

Growing up in Green Bay ours was Kroll's Hard Roll Butter Burgers - Culvers ripped that off when they started up in the mid 80's.

I recently had Tommy's (not the original location, at Beverly & Rampart. LA ) in Las Vegas.
Not having a Tommy's for about 14 years just got my memory and added high speculation very high.
Taste was good but not as good as we remembered.
Block away, they had in and out and it was also good but not as good as I remembered.

Had to do the Double Mac Rib last night......... Ordered an extra one to warm up for lunch at work.

And to the member that made a disparaging remark about being parts, as the commercial once said, “Parts is Parts. “

The McRib is a perfect example of good marketing and driving demand by artificial scarcity.

But yeah, the hype is kinda fun and every once in a while I like having one.

If they aren?t going over this in an intro to marketing class somewhere I?d be disappointed.

I agree. I try not to eat fast food too often but my work forces me to sometimes. I'm embarrassed to admit I got a McRib yesterday. I thought, "people are excited about this, I'll try it." It was terrible, even by fast food standards.

I feel the same way, when KFC has their chicken littles. . rarely do i do ff, other than chik-fil-a. But if they're offering them, chicken littles, oh yeah. Of course it's usually when i'm close to home, very close.
