    Heads-up, if you're making your own aluminum powder in a ball mill, don't forget when you open the canister, do it outside & most importantly away from your person. All that rapid oxidation & Whoosh - you need a new shirt.

    Actually, the pyrotechnics were dramatically underimpressive. Just so I don't keep everyone hanging, here's what I did. Nothing like the napalm scene in "Apocalypse Now."

    A small rack to put water bottles, travel mugs, and plastic bags on to dry. It's been an idea I've been kicking around for a while. My Dad got a drill press for my parents anniversary and didn't know what to do with it. It is a pretty specialized piece of equipment - but mighty handy when the need arises.

    Here it is in action. The biggest thing I learned is that working with a Dremel Tool in the kitchen is a bad idea. I knew better. I just had to try. I was inspired. I spent most of yesterday cleaning up sawdust. I've got most of it. I'll probably be cleaning it up for months to come.
