A great American indeed. I never met him, but i did know Dick Frost who flew chase during the flight that broke the sound barrier. Dick stayed in contact with Chuck Yeager and thought the world of him.
RIP to the worlds greatest pilot.

An American Hero RIP
I met him a long time ago when I was a kid in Civil Air Patrol. Cool dude, great smile for everyone.
I was just wondering if he was still around when I was watching "First to the Moon". He apparently tried to scuttle Bill Anders' transfer to NASA. Regardless, the man was a definitely an aviation legend and true pioneer of the skies.
Is that a man?
Yeah, you're damn right it is!
The vagrants of Boulder welcome you...
97 years old is impressive. 97 + being a 1940's test pilot is absolutely amazing. Godspeed Chuck.
If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.
I heard a saying once...something to the effect of: "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. There are no old, bold pilots."
Whoever said that must not have heard of Chuck Yeager. Then again, maybe it's accurate now.
