I have hopes for the new Scheel's store opening in the Springs in March (21st I think). But, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high just to see them crashed by being less than I hoped for.

ETA: Big R is okay for what it is, but it doesn't hold a candle to even Sportsmans Warehouse. It's a farming store with a little outdoorsy stuff.

Sounds like an opportunity to expand.

    However, retail stores are dinosaurs.

My main concern is the ability of the government to shut down sales of ammunition and firearms.

With a two large companies managing much of the product manufacturing and retail sales, it will be easier for an incoming federal administration that is anti-gun to control the flow of product.

Vista Outdoors and Bass Pros are now very dominant companies. They will be able to influence market trends. And prices.

If a hostile administration choses to throttle or shut down the firearms market, it is much easier to do so by going after a few large players that control the majority of sales, rather than hundreds of smaller companies. The trickle down will be devastating regardless, to both smaller businesses and to the individual firearm enthusiast.

Hopefully they leave the company as it is, it’s a nice alternative. I try not to enter Cabelas or Bass Pro if I don’t have to. Jax used to be good until they jumped on the anti black rifle bandwagon.

before the panic, Sportsman's primer prices were significantly lower than Cab/Bass Pro

Funny you should mention that. Just watched a show on amazon called

    The Last Motorcycle on Earth.

I'm going to post it in a few threads. But substitute guns for motorcycles. Well you'll get the picture.
