Default Looking for someone to tell me where to go, and go there I will (info CS area recycle/trash hauling)

It is time to clean up my act, mostly time to start cleaning stuff up around the garage.

I have some old crap cluttering up the garage and I need the space so I can buy more stuff. Well; mostly I need more space in the garage to play with the large lathe. And work on a few other projects.

---CRT style TV's one is 32" monster plus 27" TV. I think I still have one 21" CRT display.

---washing machine (burned out motor + water pump).

---cardboard I use to go to the local (free) recycler. They stopped accepting anything for recycling, so now looking for a new place.

---Old can food items (10+ years expired), my taste buds changed and food that I use to always eat, I just don't like so much.

I don't mind paying for it to be hauled out - but not looking to be bent over the rail.

I know it is going to be fun when I try to dump a bunch of old computer's that I have stored up. The fun part will be, Mr. Drill press, meet Mr Hard drive....or I could just use a pick axe on it. I will save that project for spring cleaning day.

When we moved out of The Springs back in January, I had a couple CRTs and an eMac to dispose of ... these guys were where I went.

I took my items there so I don't know if they do pickup. Also they just do electronics recycling so I don't know about the other stuff (I'd just put the canned food items in the regular trash).

The county will take some of that off your hands for free, but because of the covid they require an appointment.

I had seen their website on a few google searches; I was not sure how good of a company they are. The challenge will be the 32" TV, dang heavy to lift up into the pickup bed.

The old food will be an issue....currently I am tossing out some in each of my trash bags each week...I have made real good progress there.

If it's over 100 pounds Best Buy might be cheaper (flat $25 for any tube TV, 32" or smaller):

There seems to be a lack of information on how to drop it off and what stores take the equipment. For the 27" TV it works, their info says less than 32"; and I have a 32" TV.

For light weight items I think Best Buy will be ideal, things like printers, old laptops, etc. And yep, I will pull the drive out before I turned that Windows 95 laptop in....

I had a 32" tube TV too. I was stupid enough to go in and ask and they said "We won't measure it...."

...and I had no problem dropping it off.

so my story and it might be true; it is a 31.5" display (rounded up for marking to be called 32")

So where do you drop it off at the store?

Go into the store and up to the customer pick up/service counter and tell 'em you got a big TV to drop off. Pays your monies, then go out and drive your car up front and someone will be out with a flat cart.

Animal rescue might accept the canned food.
