Elk M1 security system will send an email or a text. You can get an outboard card for DSC systems made by EyezOn that will send an alert though the app itself is really clunky. Most security systems need to have an account with something like Alarm.com to get notifications to your phone. I believe on their end it’s a liability issue with the manufacturer. Back a decade or two ago when automation was starting to get big everyone was requesting rs232 interfaces for alarm panels so that we could integrate them with other systems. Alarm manufacturers did not want to do this as they thought that it was a back door in to a security system that they could some how become liable for if it ever got hacked. I think the same line of thinking is still being used with alarm manufacturers in regards to online apps, someone hacks your online account and gets in to your home and kills someone, who’s at fault?
