Progressive ideology, ideas so good they must be mandatory.

All Empires Fail and when Washington's global dominion finally ends, there will be painful daily reminders of what such a loss of power means for Americans in every walk of life. As a half-dozen European nations have discovered, imperial decline tends to have a remarkably demoralizing impact on a society, regularly bringing at least a generation of economic privation. As the economy cools down and the political temperatures rise, often alot of unrest comes from the parties.

Data you can see online says the economic, educational, and military charts indicate that, when it comes to U.S. global power, negative trends will aggregate rapidly by 2021 and are likely to reach a critical mass no later than 2028. The American Century, proclaimed so triumphantly at the start of World War II, will be tattered and fading by 2025, its eighth decade, and could be history by 2030. Sad as it is.. We go on.

Late last night my nephew in Kalifornia called me. He is a gun-owning conservative looking for a new job out of state. He regularly reads leftist web sites to understand what they are proposing and how they would go about it. He tells me that some posters (maybe true or BS) have been saying over the past few weeks that if the dems control congress and Biden is sworn in (seems true at this point), no oversight will take place. Quite a few on the left are proposing using and integrating powerful tools owned by the intelligence community and the social media companies to identify republican, conservative, and church leaders who have the potential to cause them problems now or in the future. This identification will include identifying contacts for each of them and assembling a "risk tree" including names, addresses, employers/employees, family members, friends, etc. In parallel, many are proposing a social media campaign to identify gun owners by ratting them out - again, names, what they own, amount of ammo, etc. The idea being that even if the guy next door is on your side, his wife or son/daughter living with them may not be. This may be tied to some sort of rewards or credit system to motivate people to volunteer info.

I'm sure this is a fever dream of the left (one of many), but from my reading it seems that this level of integrated data collection technology has existed for some time. We have heard some in leftist leadership positions advocating for exactly these kind of things. Of course, they almost never go into detail about exactly they would do with this information. I'm of the belief that intelligence preparation should be in response to capabilities, rather than guessing about intentions. The capabilities alone should raise alarm.

Given their current leadership, I don't know if you can really count Catholics as "conservative."

I will give Democrats credit for one thing- they will vote for their candidate who eventually ends-up on the ballot. Republicans will try to think of every reason why they shouldn't support their own candidate.

Agree. The rabid Latin Mass faction of the Catholic church is still very conservative, but that is a very small minority. The rest of the church wandered away from conservative ideas over the last 4 decades. Today the church is very liberal.

@Irving - are you suggesting their influx would make our country more conservative? Or conservatives should relocate to Mexico?

I don't want to start an argument in another thread with my opinions.
