It is unlawful to possess a firearm inside your residence unless it and the ammunition are registered with MPDC. There is no permit issued in the District to lawfully carry any firearm outside your residence, and no permit from any state or territory is recognized in the District.

DC residents can get a concealed carry permit, my Dad has one. But it is true that they don't recognize any other CC permits.

IF majority of those who got arrested was registered republican,it was because BLM and antifa leader wanted planned rioters to change their voter registration to republican to make far right look bad. They changed the registration within days of planning riot.

The US Capitol has been fenced in. There is discussion of arming the 340 National Guard troops with M-4's & Beretta pistols. I'm not sure if the inauguration will take place as it has traditionally in the past at the US Capitol.

I keep seeing people everywhere trying to convince others that the Capitol breach was a setup by the left. Let's all be honest here, the people that breached the Capitol were majority true Trump supporters. There were obviously a few antifa sorts there, but they were vastly outnumbered. One or two id'd antifa does not make a conspiracy. (If they were mostly true antifa, they would have destroyed the statues in the Capitol, those guys HATE statues).

Capitol police holding doors open doesn't prove it was a setup.

Here's a crazy thought, maybe some of those LEOs are sympathetic to that group? Is that so hard to believe that some of those guards actually agreed with the mob? The same people that say LE is on the side of patriotism refuse to believe that there were sympathetic LEOs there...huh?

Americans have been storming government buildings since before our founding. Lookup the Worcester Revolt. Prior to the battles of Lexington and Concord, patriots were busy storming British run courts all over Massachusetts and kicking out Tory judges and councilmen. All because they felt like they lost their vote. Sound familiar? They did it for months. They took over literally every court in Mass except those in Boston. (Sam Adams, always the statesman, begged them to stop, because he said it would hurt their cause and alienate potential allies. That sounds familiar too, huh?)

Why is it so hard to believe patriots did it again in 2021? Right or wrong, it's in our blood. It may have been dormant for a few centuries, but it's still in many Americans.

Good post. I find it amazing that the other side thinks they are helping themselves by calls for 25th amendment invocation, canceling people / canceling conservative news / blocking conservative social networks, etc.

I'm just pointing a finger at our handling of Germany after the great war. If their focus is retribution and "making things right" they're paving a road to extreme radicalization (how WWII happened).

It's a sad day when there is no bigger man on both sides of the isle.

I wish we had Trey Gowdy or Ted Cruz in 2016 :/ I think things would truly be dramatically different right now.

Heard on the Radio yesterday that the Capitol Police Chief tendered his letter of resignation as well as the Senate Sergeant at Arms.

Yeah, that'll fix what has the citizenry pissed off.

Can you imagine what could happen if a couple hundred-thousand pissed-off armed citizens rolled into DC?

Peace in a 1st world country isn't as stable as what I would have thought.

The capitol police operate at the responsibility of the heads of the House and Senate. That would be Pelosi and McConnell. It used to be a direct leadership connection, but they added a board of officials in there now. Technically still operate under Pelosi and McConnell. So when Pelosi starts grandstanding about how the capitol police were wholly unprepared and failed... well.... what does that really say?

You could say it was to disrupt the counting of electoral college ballots and make the arguments of the protestors known. However, my opinion, most of them only intended to stand outside with a sign. A few may have had the original intent of getting inside, but most just got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I say that because most of the people who went in seemed to just wander around and take selfies. They did not have a directed reason to even be in there. Which is even sadder as they committed a significant violation of the law and will be subject to major legal actions, all over what could be closer to a college prank than, as the news seems to be describing it, a "coup".
