Capital police have do have to do their job, and they have to protect the capital. Still, it seems like something like a club would have been just as effective, with a much lower chance of death. The individuals were not presenting a threat to officers safety and it appeared that capitol police were also with them on both sides of the egress. The plainscloths officer that fired might have been more appropriately employed in a mall on a segway, the rest showed remarkable restraint.

Lots of us have done stupid shit at various times of our life, I'm no exception to that rule. I hardly think her "stupid moment" of starting to lean into a broken window warranted a death penalty. A beatdown and an arrest, maybe. Even if we assume they were making verbal warnings in that situation, ordinarily law enforcement officers would utilize death as a last resort, not immediately shot the first person as "crowd control" which is what this really appears to be. I'm backing the actions of 99.9% of the officers there and impressed with their handling, save for the one exception of that individual, whoever they may be.

So police on both sides of a secured internal area potentially where people were sheltering in place during a riot. A mob using weapons to destroy and breach the secured area. An individual breaching said area after it is broken down and police on one side are overrun.

And your suggestion is to have them engaged in hand to hand combat while vastly outnumbered by mob? Should police also just only be allowed to shoot people in the leg if attacked with a knife?

Have you seen the video? Some capital police were chilling with the "mob". They appear to have zero fear of "the mob" which is giving them apparent respect. One woman leaning through is hardly an "overrun" situation nor is it "hand to hand combat". If police did nothing at all, sure, quite a few people would've started coming through one at a time.

Trying to climb through the window wasn?t necessarily her stupid moment. Choosing to join in on a riot (sorry, not sure if that is the proper term for what took place) at the capital building was her (and lots of other peoples) moment of stupidity.

If any of the participants went into this thinking there was zero chance anything bad could happen to them then they are idiots.

I don?t have an opinion about if the shooting was justifiable or not but I?m not surprised someone went down during this event and generally don?t have sympathy for anyone who suffers consequences from their own actions.

I?d bet money that if she wasn?t part of the festivities at the capital she?d still be alive.

That sounds like Portland. yet not one rioter was shot by a cop, as they overran the police station. Interesting how different groups are handled. Not saying one way or the
other if said capitol shooting was justified. As i was not there in the cops shoes, as it happened.

There is truth to that Ray. Its always a mystery to me who even has the time to make stupid choices like that. I couldn't participate even if it was 15 miles away. Sleeping 4h/night still doesnt squeak enough time. Must largely be victims of job losses or?? The things people do when they're bored.....

Lets be a little less hostile if we can one concern that I have in an aspect of all this is that it will blow a wide open hole in a new propaganda frontier by our international trolls. Now instead of manufacturing quotations and positions attributed to people like Trey Gowdy, Rand Paul, etc., they can manufacture "emails" alleged to be on Nanci Pelosi's computer and a vast percentage of people that see it will instantly believe anything. Because hey, they were in her office, right? Mark my words, were going to see all sorts of "nanci Pelosi email" shares all over social media. Not one will be a legitimate email and some of the stuff that people believe will likely put PizzaGate to shame.
