Protesting peacefully outside would have been great if it had stopped there. The people who forced their way, vandalized, or stole things just gave ammunition and strength to all the lies the Left told about Trump and anyone who didn't support Antifa/BLM/SJW riots. It doesn't matter what the truth is, the history written by the reporters will continue to emphasize the people who were photographed inside the Capitol building and carrying off items. We know it's a lie but the kids reading it in their history texts 5, 10 years from now won't.

Oh shit, blacklisted probably isn't politically correct now. Even though we wouldn't ever use that word if we were talking about BLM peace protestors, who are saving the world with their love one frozen water bottle at a time and it only is used in reference to evil trump supporters, we need a sensitive label.
I think "canceled" is the current term.

One of the lasting impressions from this event was how a concept that I've known for a long time suddenly got very real to me; the idea that order in our society is not guaranteed, it is fragile and only held together by general consent. As in, if half the people collectively stopped paying taxes or obeying laws, it could be a couple weeks till life became a post-apocalyptic movie. It seems like the insurrectionists at the capitol could have done much more and lasting damage to our country if they had been a little more organized or had loftier goals. Their relatively small numbers doesn't mean that much.
I wonder if some of those people later that night had a similar but guilty realization, that what they had done at the capitol could have been the spark that started a civil war and ended our Nation.

"Polite Society" is an obscenely thin veneer that exists in the relative calm of "normalcy"...

Disrupt that "normalcy" and that thin veneer crumbles incredibly quickly.
