If you wear a hoody when its chilly you don't want a large brim. Bass Pro sold me a insulated hat with fold down ear flaps. It has a two inch brim.
A large brim will flap around in the wind and is a distraction when shooting prone. The rear brim pushes the hat forward.

is it goofy looking? yes. is it ridiculously expensive? yes. but, it will keep your head warm, your ears warm, and keep the sun and snow out of your eyes

I?m disappointed. That wasn?t even close to as goofy looking as I expected. In fact, now I want one.

So I'm cheap...I wear a baseball hat and just put a beanie over the top. When it warms up, I take the beanie off.

I just one of these for xmas. The ear warmers fold inside the hat, so they disappear when not in use. Fits good, good quality, warm and looks like a regular baseball hat.

I've worn something ike this for years and love it. I wear glasses so keeping rain and snow off of them is essential. I get compliments all the time.

Did you know that sunglasses have ratings? P for polarized, and 1-4 is the relative level of protection. You'll also find 'UV400" ratings, which mean 100% block on UVa and UVb.
Glacier glasses are rated P4. I like P3's with wrap around frames so the wind can't get behind the glass.
